Two sleeping fans to rule them all

Two weeks ago, the 76ers were making headlines, but it had nothing to do with tanking, or Nerlens Noel’s potential return or even about how bad they were.

OK, it sort of was about how bad they were. Yahoo claimed that the team was so bad that they were putting fans in the front row to sleep.

The picture was a short-lived meme that came back up tonight when a fan was caught napping at a Flyers/Devils game.

Well, I would like to take this opportunity to present you with the ultimate sleeping fan picture. But wait, there’s more.

If you look closely at the picture above, you will notice two folded-arms gentlemen clad in red Phillies attire passed out on top of each other.

When did this happen? Oh, it wasn’t during anything big. It was just October 26, 2008 or, as you may recall it, Game 4 of the Philadelphia/Tampa Bay World Series.

That’s right. These two guys got completely hammered after spending likely four digits on World Series tickets but before the game even started. Before the first pitch was even thrown, they were asleep.

People poked at them. Some folks took their pictures, including yours truly. Mostly, everyone just laughed and shook their heads.

If they saw two innings of historic Philadelphia baseball that night, they were lucky.
