Archer Renewed for… Wait, I Had Something for This

…Two more seasons!

FX announced today that it’s animated comedy, Archer,  has been renewed for seasons six and seven, each consisting of 13 episodes.

Archer, named after its lead character who the voice of H. Jon Benjamin — also of Bob’s Burgers fame — is currently in its fifth season, codenamed Vice. The season started off with a sharp left turn and big plot twist that altered the course of the comedy, though we expect it to return to form by the end of the season.

From HollywoodReporter.com:

“Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX comedy brand,” FX original programming president Eric Schrier said. “We’re grateful to [creators/executive producers] Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and their team at Floyd County, and also our incredible voice cast, and are looking forward to supporting their work for at least two more seasons.”

…Archer ranks as the second-highest-rated comedy in basic cable among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. First-run season-five episodes are averaging an uptick of 2 percent among total viewers (1.93 million) compared with season four, marking the show’s most watched season ever.

Needless to say, this news is amaaaaaazing!
